Heaven's Haven

35½" x 31½"
My granddaughter Sierra (portrait model) and lines from the poem "Heaven-Haven" by 19th century poet G. M. Hopkins inspired this scene.

What would the world be, once bereft
Of wet and of wilderness? Let them be left,
O let them be left, wildness and wet;
Long live the weeds and the wilderness yet.
