        - The title of this quilt was first established in Swahili, the
principal native language of Kenya, "Saa Muzuri Kamala Samaki" ("Good Hour
to Catch Fish").  When my younger son Ted was one year old our family
lived outside the city of Nairobi, Kenya, near a native village where
fresh fish was a very important staple in the diet.  The central
batik in this quilt lends itself to fisherpeople, and I chose indigenous
fabrics to enhance the fishing theme.  The quilt hangs by a sisal
rope wound 'round a Kenyan walking stick.  Ted is now an
environmentalist and an avid fisherman who truly believes that any
hour is a good hour to catch fish.
